Entrance to Fort Meigs, originally uploaded by Christine Bailey.

I swear I think my pictures are getting worse as I go on! I took this one back in March at Fort Meigs and I don’t know – somehow I figured out how to make it look somewhat interesting…but now I feel like I’m really having to try hard to find interesting things or ways to capture them, not sure why…I go back and look at the ones from winter and I like them better than the current ones…feel like my brain is rusty! Reading a blog on creativity, hope it helps!

memorial weekend sunset

Memorial Weekend Sunset, originally uploaded by Christine Bailey.

This came out a touch dark but otherwise is true to the amazing pink and purple sunset we had this evening…its rare to see the sky quite this vivid…

Glad we have tomorrow off for the holiday. Gong to a parade and community barbecue.

Maumee River, originally uploaded by Christine Bailey.

The most peaceful spot around, just me and the woodpeckers tap-tapping away.  Family and dogs were up around the bend.  Picture’s a bit too dark – I wanted to use the available light yet not overexpose the picture.
I’ve been going to this park all of my life.  I’m glad we still live here and my child is learning to appreciate it now.

oriole

Wish this little dude’s head showed up better in the picture – it blends into the tree trunk too much.

This itty-bitty bird was sitting on the ground outside the door to my work this morning and he wasn’t moving, even as I got closer. When I came really close I noticed that he would occasionally blink his eyes..he wasn’t cocked to one side or dragging a leg – he seemed just out of it. Since we’re in a tall building and was right by the wall, I think maybe he flew into the glass and knocked himself loopy. He really stood out with the orange wings and tail. I don’t remember ever seeing a bird like this around here.

I did pick him up and move him carefully to a tall planter and tucked him in under the tree (which you see here) so that no one accidentally hurt him walking in. I took this quick snap and left. When I came out at lunch I noticed he was gone so I hope he felt better and flew away.

Daytime Moon, originally uploaded by Christine Bailey.

Well its been so busy at home and work that I haven’t had a chance to do much with the camera in the last few days, so I’m going to the vault for some recent pictures that I haven’t posted yet.

This was taken about a month ago…I really like the colors here…I do find it interesting that the moon never looks as big when you look at it through the camera.

The neighbor’s garage looks creepy at night, especially with that green-tinged light…probably should have got closer for this picture…

netting the catch

Some guys right next to the dam outside of Grand Rapids, OH catching a fish. I was too slow to get a picture when they held it up, but is was huge – looked at least 14 inches. They showed it off, then released it.

Right now the Walleye Run is on, which always brings thousands of fishermen and women from all over to our section of the Maumee River.  It was a bit quieter in Grand Rapids than in Maumee, but there were still plenty of people out with their poles.
